The Teskey Brothers Live In Cairns

The Teskey Brother show in Cairns must have been one of the most anticipated shows in the city for a long time and given the fact the 1000 seat venue sold out within 48 hours gives some indication about how ready the music lovers of Cairns were ready to see them.

The night started with WILSN as the support act and the theatre was full for their set, which was so soulful and majestic that it set the tone for the rest of the evening and made a few fans no doubt.

With a new album out and having been on the road for months in Europe this is a stage ready band and rather than a band going through the motions this was one of the most amazing shows of the year.

The Teskey Brothers have the songs and the talent and the way their two unique guitar styles with Josh strumming and Sam hitting the notes and the slide was just magical to see in real life.

Their setlist was a spread of songs including a cover of Ray Charles “Drown in My Own Tears”

Towards the end of the set people began to stand and dance in the aisles and this mixed with the sing a long to their final song “Hold Me” that almost seemed like it was never going to end.

This was an amazing two hours of music and such a throwback to classic music with call and repeat and all the tricks to engage and energise an audience.
Surely we will see the Teskey Brothers back again soon.
