There was a lot going on at Tim Rogers show @ Tanks on Saturday night and this is a reflection of what is going on in Roger's persoanl life.
After a month touring the US which culminated in a week with his 11 year old daughter who now lives in Manhattan, Rogers was in a melancholy mood that was interspersed with his wry observations and humorous anecdotes.
The set started out solo with a number of yet to be released songs that explored the distance between father and daughter which was a real treat for the crowd, along with some recent songs that explored all aspects of the human condition ...including the value of a good cappucino at the Paragon Cafe in Goulburn.
Anyone who was not moved by these songs must have a heart of stone.
It was also great to see Rogers out of the "You AmI" fulll on rocker mode...this laid back set allowed the audience to listen to the words and music and get a sense of depth and sould of one of Australia's greatest songwriters.
This really was a set for the fans except for the one's who only know " Berlin Chair" and what a great show it was...especially his final song of the night a hearfelt cober of Bob Dylan's "Boots of Spanish Leather" for the encore.
